The Winfield Youth Softball Organization (WYSO) was established for the purpose of administering and promoting fastpitch softball for the greater Winfield, Taylorsville, Mount Airy, and Sykesville areas of Carroll County. The WYSO is a non-profit organization under the direction of the Carroll County Department of Recreation & Parks and the Winfield Recreational Council.  Our intent is to teach the basic principles of softball, team building, and sportsmanship, while having the most fun possible, because…"It’s all about the girls!"

WYSO consists of two programs:  Winfield Girls Rec (instructional) and Maryland Sting (travel).
